FSC1: NEBOSH Fire Safety comprising of:
Element 1 Managing fire safety.
Element 2 Principles of fire and explosion.
Element 3 Fuel, oxygen, ignition sources and control measures.
Element 4 Fire protection in buildings.
Element 5 Safety of people in the event of a fire.
Element 6 Fire safety risk assessment.
FSC2: Fire risk assessment:
This part of the NEBOSH fire course has no syllabus content associated with it and will require learners to produce a fire risk assessment of a workplace which considers a wide range of identified hazards (drawn from elements 1-6 of the FSC syllabus) and meets best practice standards ‘suitable and sufficient’.
The fire risk assessment practical is all about you doing a fire risk assessment in your own workplace – prioritising risks, inspecting the workplace, recognising a range of common fire hazards, evaluating risks (taking account of current controls), recommending further control, planning actionsmeasures, planning actions. Guidance will be provided as well as a MS Word document template and a worked example to give you an indication of how it should be set out.
The FSC2 fire risk assessment is undertaken in your own time following completion of the course.
